Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 May 2026
Word Shift is a word puzzle game. We do not require an account, do not collect personal information, and do not sell any data. The only third-party services used are advertising (Google AdMob) and optional local notifications.

1. Who We Are

Word Shift is developed by The Ordinary Code. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at theordinarycode@gmail.com.

2. What Data We Collect

Word Shift is designed to collect as little as possible. The app stores the following data locally on your device only — it is never transmitted to our servers:

We do not operate any servers that collect or process personal user data.

3. Advertising

Word Shift displays ads provided by Google AdMob. Ads appear in two forms:

Google AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to serve personalised advertisements in accordance with their privacy policy. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Notifications

If you enable daily notifications, Word Shift schedules them locally on your device as a reminder to play your daily puzzle. No notification data is sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app.

5. Puzzle Content

Daily puzzles are fetched from our backend (hosted on AWS) over HTTPS. No personal information is sent as part of this request — only the current date is used to retrieve the correct puzzle.

6. Children's Privacy

Word Shift is a family-friendly word game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect personal data at all, the app is safe for all ages.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted to this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Contact

If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy policy, please contact us at theordinarycode@gmail.com.
